The fertility treatment rebate has already been used by 12,000 families across the state, offering a $2000 payment for out-of-pocket costs relating to IVF treatments.
The NSW government's IVF rebate scheme is set be scaled back, with the payment to be limited families making less than $116,000 a year.
Minns said the government had to cut the scheme back as they couldn't cover the costs of the treatments with taxpayer dollars. "We put a means test on it... We know that's going to be disappointing for some couples... The only reason is taxpayers' ability to pay for it."
