Supporters of Moira Deeming have questioned the validity of an expulsion motion that is set to be discussed at a Liberal party room meeting on Friday.

Party members were emailed the motion on Saturday, with five frontbenchers listed as signatories.

However, Ms Deeming's supporters say the motion is invalid because it lacks physical signatures, and claim there is no evidence of her alleged offences against the Liberal Party. Under the Victorian Liberal Party constitution, a notice of motion that is brought on to expel a member"shall specify the reasons for such proposed expulsion and shall be signed by the leader of deputy leader or any five members of the parliamentary party". It came after Ms Deeming attended a a Let Women Speak rally in Melbourne's CBD that was gatecrashed by a group of neo-Nazis.
