The Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC), which is responsible for investigating the incident because it was in international airspace, requested the assistance of the New Zealand commission. "TAIC is in the process of gathering evidence relevant to the inquiry, including seizing the cockpit voice and flight data recorders," the update read. Earlier on Tuesday, LATAM Airlines said it was working with authorities to investigate the factors that led to the "strong shake" on the flight on Monday.
