Fans think they have discovered the identity of the next James Bond after Daniel Craig thanks to a strange video from a Game of Thrones star.
James Bond fans think that Game of Thrones star Richard Madden has secretly announced that he's been cast as the iconic superspy. The most recent outing for the character, 2021's No Time to Die, marked the last time that Daniel Craig would play the role after debuting in 2006's Casino Royale. Since then, casting progress has been kept under wraps and many names have been floated online as potential Bonds, including everyone from Idris Elba to Henry Cavill to Ryan Reynolds.

They both sip martinis and when Tucci asks him how his is, Madden stares directly down the barrel of the camera and says "delicious." This has led to rumors swirling on social media that this is him secretly announcing the fact that he has been cast as 007 in the next James Bond movie.
Why Richard Madden Is Perfect For Bond Madden could certainly be a strong choice to play James Bond. The actor has proved himself to be incredibly versatile over the years, fitting into a variety of different huge projects with many different tones.
The requirements for James Bond are many, but one of the most important is the fact that the character is simultaneously a suave action hero and a wry comic figure. Madden has accomplished both facets of that character in his time. While he plays a suave spy as part of the Citadel cast, he also showed off his comedy chops in the 2018 Netflix film Ibiza.
However, even though he might make a good James Bond, Madden shouldn't play him. Citadel gives him a role that is much too similar to James Bond for the casting to be fresh and exciting. Part of the appeal of any new Bond is speculating how the character and his world might change when a new, more untested performer is given a chance to show off their stuff, something that wouldn't happen were Madden to get the role.
