Nine Entertainment has made its director of communications and public relations, Victoria Buchan, redundant just ahead of the release of a major cultural review in its news division.
Nine has suddenly announced the redundancy of its communications head Victoria Buchan , just ahead of the release of a major review into allegations of sexual harassment and bullying allegations in the broadcaster's news division.
The cultural review was sparked by shock allegations made against Nine's former news boss Darren Wick, with several women coming forward to claim he had sexually harassed them and oversaw a toxic culture in the newsroom. Ms Buchan was understood to have been a close confident of the former news boss and had come under intense media scrutiny following the emergence of claims about the unsafe work environment in Nine's news division. Nine has also faced criticism of its messaging following the emergence of allegations, including over how it responded to rumours that Mr Wick was essentially forced out and did not leave of his own accord.
