A nine-year-old boy is fighting for his life after a serious crash involving a car and an e-bike on the Gold Coast . The boy was riding tandem on the e-bike with a man in his 40s on Robina Town Centre Dr in Robina when they were hit by a car about 6.11pm on Wednesday. Queensland Ambulance Service Senior Operations Supervisor, Stuart Cutajar, said bystanders and an off-duty paramedic rushed to help and performed CPR on the boy before ambulances arrived.
The boy was assessed by paramedics in a “critically unstable condition”, with life-threatening head and leg injuries. “He had multi-system trauma, at various stages CPR and advanced life-saving measures were used throughout care on scene and during transport to Gold Coast University Hospital,” Cutajar said. The man riding with the boy suffered life-threatening head and arm injuries and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
