Major supplier to Australia's mining industry has been accused of ignoring the sexual harassment one of its female apprentices was subjected to.

A major supplier to Australia’s mining industry has been accused of ignoring the repeated sexual harassment and discrimination of an apprentice, including being told her workplace was "no place for a woman".

Another time, he allegedly told her: “If you want to get signed off you know what you have to do,” suggesting she needed to perform sexual favours to finish her apprenticeship. The allegations in the lawsuit echo disclosures made to the Australian Human Rights Commission during its national inquiry into sexual harassment in the workplace.

The sexual and sexist comments from Ms Trautner's supervisor failed to stop after she went to her managers and she was forced to make several other reports, according to court documents.
