A-League’s broadcast partner Network 10 has described the actions of hooligans as “unacceptable” and “disappointing”.
The A-League’s television partner Network 10 has condemned the actions of a group of violent pitch invaders at Saturday night’s Melbourne derby, supporting a full investigation into the incident which left one of its cameramen injured.
A Network 10 spokesperson said the actions of a minority group at the Melbourne City v Melbourne Victory match on Saturday night were “unacceptable” and “disappointing”. Melbourne Victory’s managing director Caroline Carnegie said on Sunday that lifetime bans may not be a strong enough punishment for the incident, which also left match referee Alex King with a cut to his head.Football Australia has not confirmed what sanctions it will take, but football sources are expecting Melbourne Victory will have to play behind closed doors for part of - if not the remainder - of the season.
