One of Australia's most prominent Indigenous leaders has offered a brutal assessment of Nationals leader David Littleproud, saying his party were supportive of the Voice to Parliament until vocal opponent Jacinta Nampijinpa Price entered parliament.
abc.net.au/news/labor-denies-lack-of-detail-caused-nationals-voice-opposition/101709188One of Australia's most prominent Indigenous voices has offered a scathing assessment of "kindergarten kid" David Littleproud, accusing the Nationals leader of backflipping on support for an Indigenous Voice to Parliament being written into the constitution.
"I am very surprised, because I have spoken to almost every National senator and MP over recent years, and of all the political parties the Nationals were the most supportive of the Voice," Mr Pearson said. Nationals leader David Littleproud this morning said his party had consulted widely and determined that enshrining the Voice into the constitution would not benefit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
"We felt that locking it into the constitution also locks in future generations if it's not successful."

‘This parliament hasn’t grown up’: Morrison censure motion a ‘petty political stunt’Nationals Leader David Littleproud says the censure motion against Scott Morrison over his appointments to five secret ministerial portfolios is a “petty political stunt”. “What we should focus on is the reforms that are in this report, and we should do that in a bipartisan way to protect the very precious institutions of our democracy here in Australia,” Mr Littleproud told Sky News Australia. “But to focus and to take up the time in the parliament for a political stunt says to the Australian people that this parliament hasn’t grown up.”
