The 4KQ-size hole on Brisbane’s AM dial appears to have been filled by its former rivals, while Nova continued to occupy top spot in the latest radio ratings.
But it was still the FM dial attracting most ears, according to the fifth ratings survey, conducted by GfK for Commercial Radio Australia and released on Tuesday.Nova was again on top of the pile, with a 13 per cent overall share, followed by B105 , KIIS 97.3 and Triple M .“I’m incredibly proud of our team’s result today,” he said. “It’s one we’ll celebrate.
The format change saw the former 4KQ breakfast team of Laurel Edwards, Gary Clare and Mark Hine last monthTheir move yielded immediate results, with 4BC’s breakfast share up from 8 per cent in the previous survey to 10.2 per cent. Given the breakfast team was recruited halfway through the survey period, 4BC could expect an even better showing in the next survey.
The switch also helped make 4BC the highest-rating AM station, with an overall 7.7 per cent audience share, edging out ABC Brisbane on 5.2 per cent, a decrease of 1.8 percentage points. The station’s content manager, Max Dudley, said Tuesday’s survey result was one “everyone can be proud of”.“As we continue to ensure 882 delivers on being the premier live and local station, these results are just the beginning of what we hope to achieve with our incredible line-up of radio hosts.”
