Follow our live coverage of tonight's clash between the Broncos and the Roosters at an empty Suncorp Stadium. Bring on the footy and the fake crowd noise. NRLBroncosRoosters
It's half time. The Broncos have broken their record for the biggest ever deficit at half-time, trailing 29-0 after a five-tries-to-nil blitz from the Roosters in the first half - and they don't even have James Tedesco. Only a couple of seconds before the break Luke Keary kicks a field goal, just because he could. That was almost taking pity on their rivals.
In all seriousness, this is the perfect example of what can happen when you're starved of ball for long periods of time and have one of the most inexperienced teams in the NRL. The new rules are making it almost impossible to turn the tide, especially against an outfit as slick as the Roosters. Amd there just doesn't seem anyone capable of hauling the Broncos out of this.
A penny for Ben Te'o's thoughts right now. How quickly can he renege on that deal announced just before kick-off?Stop. The. Fight. The Roosters are in again. Jake Friend from dummy half finds Victor Radley after a quick play-the-ball from Boyd Cordner. Radley tips the ball onto Kyle Flanagan. He scores untouched under the posts and converts his own try. It's 28-0 after 33 minutes.
I'm not sure there are too many more players in the game who are going to benefit from the new rules apart from Radley.Check on Seibold's jacket please. You think Victor Radley might have been a little cautious after a brush with the judiciary during the week? Think again.
