New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian has stressed the importance of going for COVID-19 testing for those people presenting with symptoms as the state moves towards school holidays and the Summer months. “NSW continues to hold the line, but we still need to be ever vigilant,” she said. A drop in testing over the weekend has been followed by a rise over 24 hours with the state recording 20,000 overnight tests.

“It’s only through high rates of testing that we can have confidence moving forward that we are picking up any unknown cases, the Premier said. “That is really critical for us moving forward especially as we enter Summer months. “We are extremely cautious about the school holidays; we know that families and individuals will be moving around the whole state and that increased mobility can also affect potential transmission.
