NSW Health staff found a person with COVID-19 symptoms who had been tested for the disease in Melbourne on a train entering Sydney.

“Don't come, you run the risk of an $11,000 fine, and six months in jail,” he said.NSW has recorded eight new coronavirus cases - all returned travellers in hotel quarantine, taking the state total to 3211.One person is being treated in ICU and a total of 68 people are being treated for coronavirus in NSW hospitals, an increase of five patients from yesterday. That figure includes those being treated in their home.from entering NSW.

“The penalties we've put in place, actually reflect what our own citizens are up for if they breach the guidelines if they do anything which could harm someone else during the pandemic,” Premier Gladys Berejiklian said. “We also have to assume that the restrictions that Victoria is putting in place … will actually work and then people in that people in those communities will stick to the rules,” she said.The premier said she had no doubt that NSW would get another spike in COVID-19 cases during the course of the pandemic.

“It's how you deal with that spike and certainly the measures we've put in place we feel are the best to keep our citizens safe,” she said.“We also do believe it's important to make sure that people from those hotspots as hard as it is for them understand that you're not welcome in NSW until that community transmission is reduced
