As a result of the delays, Shadow Transport Minister Natalie Ward has called for a fare-free travel day on the rail network for commuters on Monday. "The transport minister launched a review promising to 'fix' Sydney trains, yet all we have seen is commuters inconvenienced and now the train system unable to function as a result of a single person phoning in sick."Acting Transport Minister John Graham said the government would not be offering a fare-free travel day but instead would ensure services aren't disrupted again.
