NSW Police acting Commissioner Dave Hudson and NSW Deputy Commissioner Mal Lanyon announce the use of extraordinary police powers against pro-Palestinian protesters at a press conference in Sydney on Friday.Acting NSW Police commissioner Dave Hudson said he believed they had reached the “threshold” for enacting the extraordinary powers, and urged protesters to stay away from the city on Sunday.
“We will also be demanding that they provide us with their identity if they fail to so do, this is an offence.” “The admitted inability of the organisers of the event to actually control the membership … a threat to public safety,” Hudson said.
