New South Wales Police have arrested three people and seized a loaded firearm, as well as drugs and $200,000 in cash, following an investigation in the area around Maitland.
Officers carried out a series of raids on Thursday, searching properties in East Maitland, Maitland, Metford, Rutherford, West Ryde, Merrylands West, and Warwick Farm, near Newcastle on the state's north coast.
The operation was part of an ongoing strike force established to investigate the supply of illicit drugs and firearms in the area and has already resulted in the seizure of four other guns, 1.2 kilograms of methylamphetamine, 113 grams of MDMA, and 28 grams of cocaine.
