Chris Minns has refused to back ICAC's findings against Gladys Berejiklian, saying he did not think the former Liberal premier owed the people of New South Wales an apology.
ICAC handed down its findings from an 18-month investigation on Thursday, with the anti-corruption body findingby refusing to notify ICAC of her “suspicion” that Mr Macquire – the former Wagga Wagga MP who she was in a secret relationship with – was involved in"corrupt conduct".
In a statement responding to ICAC’s report, Ms Berejiklian said the findings were “currently being examined by my legal team”. “It’s not for me to pass judgment about findings made by independent organisations or investigatory bodies like the ICAC... what I would say and what I said about premier Berejiklian yesterday is that I thought her service to the state during COVID was exemplary,” he said.
