Investigations are under way after a Concord Hospital worker who cared for COVID-19 patients tested positive for the virus, as NSW recorded three new cases on Saturday | MWhitbourn

Investigations are under way after a Concord Hospital worker who cared for COVID-19 patients tested positive for the virus, as NSW recorded three new cases on Saturday.

"The locally acquired case worked at Concord Hospital while potentially infectious," NSW Health said."The case cared for patients with COVID-19 and further investigation is underway to identify how the infection was acquired. Contact tracing is underway." NSW Health's Dr Jeremy McAnulty said that while NSW had recorded low numbers of locally-acquired cases in recent weeks the "risk of outbreaks and resurgence of cases remains". It was likely the virus was still circulating in people with mild symptoms, he said.

A Bondi Junction house party turned into an expensive night out after NSW Police said the occupants and 24 guests would each be fined $1000 for breaching coronavirus restrictions.
