The NSW Government has been accused of revenue raising over the past couple of years, with the value of fines issued surging despite COVID-19 disruptions. The biggest reason for write-offs is when the debt is uneconomical to pursue, meaning they cost more to chase than they would return in payment.Next was being incapable of paying, which equated to a total of $1.6 million, and thirdly due to death at $1.5 million.
