Pub group booking limits are set to decrease again as the Crossroads Hotel COVID-19 cases swell and health authorities trace a case to The Star casino in Pyrmont.
NSW Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant said if another outbreak occurred that could not be traced to the Casula cluster then restrictions would need to be considered again.
They include a man in his 20s who visited The Star casino on July 4 and then Canterbury League Club later that night. "You can see how rapidly COVID-19 can spread if we do not act promptly," Dr Chant said. "This is called the Crossroads Hotel for a reason; it is on a popular route," she said of the pub that is frequented by interstate truck drivers and travellers passing through Sydney.
"The time for warnings has passed," Mr Cooke said. "Complacency is the ally of the virus. We need to take this seriously."outside the Crossroads Hotel, where a pop-up clinic was established.
