Premier Gladys Berejiklian is tomorrow expected to announce a change to COVID-19 restrictions for New South Wales as cases surge in Sydney's south west. Booking numbers for pubs and clubs will be reduced from 20 to 10, while all patrons will be required to sign in before entering a premises.

Venues will be restricted to 300 people regardless of size in what has been dubbed a modest but concerning rollback of state coronavirus rules. The state saw 21 cases linked to a cluster originating from the Crossroads Hotel at Casula, with fears NSW could meet the same fate as Victoria. NSW Chief Medical Officer Dr Kerry Chant did not rule out recommending regional lockdowns to Premier Gladys Berejiklian.
