Kay Henderson who chose to end her life via voluntary assisted dying has gone peacefully, “on her terms” and surrounded by loved ones. The 47 year-old, spent the morning with about 20 family members and her closest friends. Henderson, from Coffs Harbour on the NSW Mid North Coast, took her last breath just before 1.30pm. “Aunty KK passed away peacefully... at 1.23pm surrounded by family and friends by her bedside,” said a post on her TikTok account. “She went out with a bang and on her terms.
“Although it is bittersweet, she can reunite with her loved ones on the other side with no pain now,” they commented. “Sending love your way.” Henderson has lived with Marfan syndrome, a genetic disorder that causes problems with the connective tissue supporting bones, muscles, ligaments and internal organs. She has been in pain since she was 14 but said it had got so bad in recent years that her activities were restricted to taking her medication, feeding her cats and watching TV.
