Northern Territory Chief Minister Michael Gunner has welcomed a new son. He is the second territory leader to welcome a child in recent months. 9News

The leader took to social media on Saturday to announce the birth of his boy, named Nash Michael Huckleberry Gunner.

"Yesterday Kristy, Hudson and I were overjoyed to welcome Nash Michael Huckleberry Gunner to the family," he said in a Facebook post."Hudson has been very gentle and loving when holding his new brother."Nash and Mum have had a very good recovery sleep overnight and everyone is happy and healthy."Mr Gunner is not the only Australian leader to welcome a child recently.child earlier in March, daughter Celeste Grace Perrotte.
