Australian Border Force agents have seized nuclear material in a high-stakes raid on a flat in Sydney's south.
Officers stormed a flat in Arncliffe about 9am on Thursday where they discovered nuclear isotopes hidden in the building.
Pictures from the scene showed a heavy police and ambulance presence, along with multiple hazardous material response vehicles.The ABF confirmed it had conducted an"operation" in the Sydney suburb. Picture: NewsWire/Nicholas EagarThey added that local residents were urged to follow"all directions from emergency services" as they continued to investigate the scene.The ABF said"all appropriate safety measures" were being taken in response to the discovery.
Environmental Protection Agency officers were also present through much of the morning while authorities carried out their investigation.
