6PR broadcaster Oliver Peterson says Victorian Liberal leader Michael O’Brien is a “dead man walking” and “can’t survive” the leadership spill which is expected to take place tomorrow morning.
The Australian is reporting Matthew Guy is set to make a return as Victorian opposition leader when the state Liberal Party meets on Tuesday after Mr O’Brien “lost the support of a majority of colleagues”.
“This has been coming for a while hasn’t it, whether it’s Tim Smith, whether it’s Mathew Guy,” he said. “It looks like Guy’s got the numbers and reading into the analysis in tomorrow’s newspapers it looks like O’Brien is now a dead man walking.”
