The Columbus Academy girls golf team earned its second consecutive Division II state tournament berth by winning the district title Oct. 3 at Darby Creek.

“I just wanted to make sure everyone stayed calm and played their own game,” Academy coach Maggie Freytag said. “That was really important to us. I figured if we came in here and did what we’ve been doing pretty much all season that we would be OK.”“This was the most confident I’ve been,” Kim said. “Not having any preconceived notions in my mind and knowing that each swing I’m going to swing confidently and just do the best I can in the swing and not worry about the result . ...

Senior Grace Luo led Academy with a 79, followed by junior Angela Hu , sophomore Caroline Zeiger and seniors Eliza Freytag and Eva Baker .
