A new survey has revealed almost three quarters of Australians are reconsidering their travel plans due to the Omicron variant, uncertainty over border restrictions and quarantine requirements.
Four out of five Australians say the"uncertainty" of the Omicron variant along with border restrictions and quarantine requirements has"negatively impacted" their travel plans this summer.
The survey shows 68 per cent of travellers said short notice lockdowns combined with lack of consistency in rules between state and territories has impacted their confidence the most. TTF CEO Margy Osmond said the emergence of the Omicron variant and the uncertainty over state restrictions is very concerning for the tourism industry.
