Cricket: Watch the Match Highlights from Australia 3rd T20 clash with Pakistan on Monday night.

claims Jason Gillespie would be removed as head coachWatch every ball of Australia v India LIVE & ad-break free during play in 4K on Kayo | New to Kayo? The PCB confirmed in a statement on Monday evening that former international fast bowler Aqib Javed had been appointed as interim white-ball head coach until the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, taking over from Gillespie.

Gillespie, who is also in charge of the Test team, had taken over as coach of the white-ball side on an interim basis following the departure of Gary Kirsten. What made Monday nights’ announcement particularly peculiar was the fact it came in the middle of the T20 game between Australia and Pakistan, which Gillespie was coaching in.

It comes after a bombshell report from ESPN Cricinfo on Monday claiming Gillespie would be removed as coach of all formats, with Javed to take over. The report claimed that Gillespie had been offered a contract to coach all three formats but added that he was not going to earn any additional money despite taking on those added responsibilities, turning it down as a result.

The PCB took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to refute the claims in the report, writing: “As announced previously, Jason Gillespie will continue to coach the Pakistan side for the two red-ball matches against South Africa.”
