The eSafety Commissioner's office confirms that Twitter has no Australian staff that the regulator can contact to report child exploitation on the social media giant's site, something the office says is critical to keeping children safe online.

There are no Australian staff left here," the office's acting chief operating officer Toby Dagg said. Following his takeover of the company, Mr Musk declared ridding the site of child abuse material "Priority #1".
