There is greater cause for optimism for residents in Greater Sydney with expectations Queensland could extend its border bubble to more of New South Wales as Monday marked the second consecutive day of zero COVID-19 cases.
From Thursday, five NSW shires – including Lismore and Byron Shires – will be added into the border bubble, allowing more than 150,000 state residents to move freely around Queensland if they
received a G-Pass. Queensland residents would also be permitted to enter those shires. The Queensland health order requiring 28 days of zero community transmission, however, remained in place.
