The Paul Reid Christmas show is the most requested holiday program at the station where Reid worked until 1977. The show aired Dec. 4 and CJAD will rebroadcast it Dec. 25 as part of itsReid’s feel-good radio show about his own family Christmases as one of 16 children never gets old. His rendition of The Littlest Angel is another favourite.Mike Reid, Paul’s son, told the Montreal Gazette in 2020 that his father’s cadence and unique timbre resonated with listeners.

Paul Reid hit the airwaves in Montreal in 1964 after stints at stations in Ontario. In 2017, CJAD honoured him as a member of its Hall of Fame, alongside George Balcan, Gord Sinclair and Ted Blackman. Reid, who died in 1983 at the age of 56, was inducted into the Canadian Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2007.

Mike has endeavoured to keep his father’s memory alive by selling remastered CD copies of the Christmas shows. A portion of sales go to children’s hospitals in Montreal and funding Scout camps for kids.
