Police said the pair were found in separate bedrooms and it's believed the bodies had been in the Canterbury for more than a month. 9News
Emergency services were called to a home on Canterbury Road near Dibbs Street in Canterbury after a concern for welfare report at 9.30am on Tuesday.
"We believe the two women are sisters aged 23 and 24 but they have not been formally identified," Detective Inspector Claudia Allcroft said. "There are no obvious signs of injury but we will know more when the post-mortem examination is conducted tomorrow," Allcroft said."There are no obvious signs of forced entry to the premises," Allcroft added.Detective Inspector Claudia Allcroft addresses the media after the bodies of two sisters were found in Canterbury.Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the women's deaths.
