Sky News host Chris Kenny says Rugby Australia should have just turned the other cheek when Israel Folau published an inflammatory post on social media.
The 30-year-old athlete said he felt ‘vindicated’ after reaching a reported $8 million settlement with Rugby Australia over his sacking.
Mr Kenny said Rugby Australia should have “just ignored it or scoffed at it” when the rugby star published a post which said gay people among others were going to hell. “Rugby Australia have decided to make it a gigantic woke stand and it’s been painful to watch,” he said. “They’ve wrecked rugby’s reputation and destroyed Folau’s career. “No good has come out of this for anyone, no person has benefited except perhaps some highly paid lawyers.
