Ecclesiastical registers contain copies or drafts of documents created by the archbishops’ administration work, including legal papers, official letters, correspondence, receipts and wills. The register belonging to Sweteman dates to his time in the senior clerical role from 1361 to 1380. Tears and losses in the paper were infilled with Japanese kozo paper before the books were rebound using 17th-century binding material.
