Buckingham Palace has announced a major royal engagement involving King Charles and Prince William, amid news the monarch has snubbed a meeting with younger son Prince Harry.
A royal engagement has been announced for King Charles merely hours after the news emerged he would not be meeting with Prince Harry this week.
“His Majesty the King will officially hand over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales,” the palace’s statement read. The official transfer comes nine months after it was announced William would take the role in a major royal reshuffle. “He has been especially concerned about him and hopes the King will be well and able to see him as planned.”
"In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program," the spokesperson said.
