Another added, “I was shocked to tell you the truth, it made me feel sick.”
The CEO of the childcare service, Kim Bertino, has released a statement, describing the incident as "unfortunate and unacceptable". In an email sent out to families last night, management confirmed the Ballan Road site is safe and secure again.“We've been overwhelmed by parents wanting to contact us and to have the conversations and to have some clarity about how this situation occurred and most importantly that this situation doesn't happen again,” Ms Bertino said.
A number of investigations are now looking into how this incident was able happen. Along with a Department of Education and Training probe, the centre is carrying out its own review led by an independent assessor.
