The crash took place on Parramatta Road in Ashfield, west of Frederick Street, at about 10.40am.
The pedestrian, believed to be aged in his 60s, suffered critical head injuries and died at the scene after receiving treatment.Aerial footage showed multiple ambulances on site.He has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.Police are investigating, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
