Politics should be about “reaching for stars” and offering a better society to Australians rather than “fact-checking”, says Greens Leader Adam Bandt. He said questions put to politicians about statistics are designed to show they are somehow either “out of touch or not representative of everyday people”.
“News flash, most of the people in Canberra are on six-figure salaries just passing time until they go out and work for the coal and gas corporations and get a six or seven figure lobbying job. “You know what would be a better way of showing that politicians are in touch with the need of everyday people? It would be passing laws that lift the minimum wage.”
