The Australian National Editor Dennis Shanahan claims Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese’s mistake couldn’t have come at a “better time” for the Liberal Party as people’s eyes turn to the federal election.
The Opposition Leader made a critical mistake on day one of the election campaign after failing to name both the unemployment and cash rate.
Mr Shanahan said the large number of postal votes set to be used for the federal election means Mr Albanese may have preferred to make his mistake later in his campaign.“He’s owned up to it; he’s done the right thing and said, ‘yes I’ve made a mistake’, and he can just try and hope to move on. “It couldn’t have come at a better time for Scott Morrison, who packed away his bags this afternoon and said, ‘thanks very much, you dig yourself out of your own hole, Anthony Albanese.’”
