NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has elevated nine first-time ministers into cabinet and added three new portfolios – Cities, Science, Innovation and Technology, and Homes – in a sweeping reshuffle that stamps his authority on the front bench.from David Elliott, who will take on the ministries of Transport and Veterans.Former transport minister Rob Stokes has been appointed Minister for Cities, Infrastructure and Active Transport.
Other notable moves include Matt Kean, who will retain his position as Treasurer but drop “Environment” from his former title of Minister of Energy and Environment. Mr Perrottet said the new cabinet would “lead NSW out of the pandemic and then take it to the next level”.“The new ministry harnesses experience, while allowing for renewal and injecting fresh energy into the team,” he said., Goulburn MP Wendy Tuckerman , upper house MP Natasha Maclaren-Jones and Cootamundra MP Steph Cooke .
The marginal Liberal seat of Holsworthy may also go to a byelection if Liberal member Melanie Gibbons is pre-selected for the Federal seat of Hughes.
