Perth is in the middle of an extreme heatwave as temperatures on Christmas day are expected to hit 43 degrees Celsius.
Temperatures are not expected to ease this evening, only getting down to 28 degrees Celsius before they peak back up to 44 tomorrow for Boxing Day.
Many flocked to the beach as authorities warned people to stay hydrated and keep cool as high temperatures are expected to continue for the rest of the week. There are total fire bans in parts of the state and risk warnings from high to catastrophic, depending on the area.
