WA Premier Mark McGowan has ordered more than 400 people who attended a Perth bar and hostel to isolate for 14 days after an unvaccinated backpacker tested positive on Thursday.
Mr McGowan says it's"not the news we wanted to hear just before Christmas" but isolating is"necessary to keep us safe".
The 25-year-old backpacker entered the state on the night of Sunday December 12 - just one hour before a hard border with the Sunshine State was introduced.
