Before the pandemic, Perth heralded the title of most affordable capital city for renters by a large margin.But rents in the city have increased 43 per cent in the last decade, from a weekly average of $440 to $630, while rents in regional WA have increased 13 per cent.Housing advocacy group Shelter WA chair Kieran Wong said Perth’s fall from grace in rental affordability won’t be easily resolved.“There’s not just a single policy leaver that’s driven it.
