As petrol prices have climbed over the past three months, there has been a 20 per cent increase in petrol theft.More people are stealing petrol as costs at the bowser rises. "Clearly some people are struggling and tending to feel the best way to manage is to steal fuel," CEO of Australasian Convenience and Petroleum Marketers Association Mark McKenzie said.Some of the unlucky service stations include Condell Park, Colyton and Wollongong.
