Incident between Zorko, Petty during AFL match to be investigated

Melbourne have accepted an apology from the Brisbane Lions and Dayne Zorko for comments directed from the Lions’ captain to Melbourne defender Harrison Petty, which the Demons described as “over the top in terms of a reference to a member of his family”.

The Lions said in a statement on Saturday afternoon that captain Zorko had been counselled by the club’s senior management - including chief executive Greg Swann, chairman Andrew Wellington and coach Chris Fagan - and he was “committed to controlling his emotions for the better of himself and the club”.
