It will be intriguing to see how much money was raised by the populist Saskatchewan United Party, which only gained official party status last year. But while election years may result in ramped-up donations, most of the money is saved, not spent on the actual campaign. Parties were subject to a spending limit of just under $1 million during the campaign in 2020 and the NDP actually outspent the Saskatchewan Party by about $100,000.
