The pilot of a seaplane carrying British tourists that crashed in a bay north of Sydney is likely to have lost full control after breathing in fumes which leaked into the cabin through an insecure panel.
The Sydney seaplane crash into Jerusalem Bay claimed the lives of pilot Gareth Morgan, Emma Bowden, her daughter Heather, British chief executive Richard Cousins and his sons Edward and William. Following the toxicology results in March, investigators again combed over the wreckage of the plane and undertook testing on a similar Beaver aircraft to replicate the potential source of carbon monoxide and entry into the cabin.
