A Brisbane inquiry has heard that four defence members killed in a defence helicopter crash were experiencing 'hazardous' fatigue levels.
Defence members Danniel Lyon, Corporal Alexander Naggs, Lieutenant Max Nugent and Warrant Officer Class 2 Joseph Laycock, who died in the crash.
An expert in fatigue management has told an inquiry looking into the Taipan helicopter crash that some ADF crews are continuing training despite fatigue recommendations suggesting otherwise.Dr Smith analysed the sleep patterns of the men leading up to the crash through data from their phone records.The inquiry has previously heard the men were sleeping next to a commercial airport, in crowded tents with no air conditioning, and some were frequently woken by noise around the campsite.
