BREAKING: A light plane has crashed into the water off the coast of Redcliffe, near Brisbane.

Queensland Ambulance said paramedics and other emergency workers were on standby after the incident was reported at 9.11am on Sunday.

Speaking to media earlier today, Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll confirmed that there had been a light plane crash at the end of the runway at Redcliffe, however she was unable to confirm the passengers on the plane.
