Anthony Albanese has drawn attention to Opposition Leader Peter Dutton’s recent absence amid ongoing criticism of the Prime Minister's trip to Ukraine as the New South Wales floods worsened.

Mr Albanese has recently returned from his third international trip since taking office and was immediately thrusted into the spotlight over the ongoing New South Wales flood catastrophe.

“Let’s be clear here there are two leaders of political parties in Australia, I haven’t been on leave I haven’t had a day off, I’ve been working very hard,” Mr Albanese said on Thursday. Mr Dutton has been on leave since Sunday, with his frontbench team picking up the fight against the Prime Minister.

“I find it astonishing that some in the opposition have drawn a parallel between a holiday in Hawaii where it was known that the bushfire crisis was unfolding and the circumstances of my going to the Ukraine, to a warzone,” he said.
